Thank you for your website. My great uncle Pvt. Harvey O. Wade served in the 821st Tank Destroyer Battalion and was killed in action in Germany on 24 April, 1945.
To the best of my knowledge his niece, my mother, is the only surviving family member who knew Pvt. Wade.
While Pvt. Wade is buried in the Margraten Military Cemetery, his last surviving brother, Julian Wade, placed a memorial plaque to his memory in the Wade family cemetery in Alabama.

Rod, I want to thank you for this excellent website honoring the men of the 821st. My Dad, Oscar Horn, served as a mechanic in HQ Co. We lost him on Feb.14, 2003. To all the surviving members of the 821st and their families, I'd like to say "May God's grace guide you always with strength and prosperity."
